Imagine our surprise when we went to load up the Thanksgiving groceries in the car for our trip to West Virginia and we discovered that we didn't have a turkey. We stared into the coldly lit fridge and there was nothing there. The reason we were so surprised was because we'd bought a turkey on Sunday - a 12 pound free-range organic turkey. Did it walk off? Worse, where did we leave it.... We looked all over the basement kitchen, nothing.
Charles made a quick call to Fresh Fields to alert them to our plight and see if there were any fresh turkeys left. Luckily for us, and our Thanksgiving Clan there was.
When we arrived at Fresh Fields they were super-helpful. The customer service staffer took our grocery receipt and made a bee-line to the meat counter. She flagged down one of the butchers who rushed into the back to find a replacement. While we were waiting the customer service said, "You've had a bad start to the day haven't you?"
The butcher came back with a new bird and within 5 minutes we were on our way to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia with a new, fresh 12 pound turkey and a story to tell.
