After hanging in Cambridge I ventured to London for a brief stay at what has become our regular hotel in London - the Coach and Horses, Kew Green. It is a relatively inexpensive hotel with decent pub. It is convenient to Heathrow, has free parking, and is within 10 minutes walk of the Kew Gardens (District/Circle Line) Tube. The small collection of shops (restaurant, book shop, pubs, market, hair cut place, real estate agents) around the tube station combined with the Victorian architecture of the neighborhood remind me of Capitol Hill. It is a very comfortable place to hang out in.
My goals for my London visit were to visit the Science Museum, enjoy a Pret a Manger lunch, visit John Lewis and Liberty's for yarn, do some clothes shopping and explore the V&A Museum gift shop. I didn't accomplish it all but I had fun trying. I took a few photos during my walkabout.
