I started this sweater vest for Charles over a year ago. Then it spent most of the following Spring, Summer and Fall marinating in my unfinished objects pile. After months of prodding by Charles and the resulting guilt it generated, I took some time over the Christmas break to sit down and finish it.
The sad part about this is that I'd done most of the knitting work - I just had to sew the front and back together, pick up stitches and knit the collar and arm edging. But because picking up stitches is one of my least favorite activities, I kept putting the chore off.
Next time I should just show myself this picture of Charles wearing his finished sweater to work to remind me how neat it is to see my work being worn! Despite his rather stern expression in this photo (which I snapped a la paparazzo with my Blackberry as he raced out the door to work), he is delighted with it.
