Today I relished being back in an office complete with office mate and colleagues down the hall. After three years of working from home it was delightful to have someone on the other side of the room to bounce ideas off, ask questions of and chat about the weather. It was great until I realized that I wasn't getting much work done.
Blocks of unscheduled time that I'd hoped to use to hunker down on some complex problems evaporated. My most productive time ended up being the hour my office mates took for lunch.
Tomorrow it is supposed to be bitterly cold - well below freezing with winds up to 25 mph. A recipe for a miserable pedestrian commute. I am tempted to use that as an excuse to stay home and get a lot more work done!
